The rules under which Receipt Folder is made available for download and use.
I. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Receipt Folder (the "App"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you don't agree with any part of them, please don't use the App.
II. What the App Does
Receipt Folder is a personal-use iOS utility that helps you track retail return windows and product warranties. It scans receipt photos on-device, stores extracted data locally, and sends reminders before your deadlines. It is a tracking tool and does not communicate with retailers on your behalf.
III. Store Policy Data
The retailer return policies bundled with the App are compiled from publicly available sources and provided for informational purposes only. Policies change; they may be out of date. Receipt Folder does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of any store policy. Always verify with the retailer before relying on a return window.
IV. Not Financial or Legal Advice
The Return Decision Engine, Insights recommendations, and any other advisory text are informational. They are not financial, legal, or consumer-protection advice. Decisions about returning, exchanging, or disputing a purchase are entirely yours.
V. User Responsibility
You are responsible for the accuracy of data you enter and scan. Meeting a deadline tracked inside Receipt Folder does not guarantee a retailer will accept your return — retailers apply their own policies, and their final decision is theirs alone.
VI. Intellectual Property
The App — including its source code, design, typography, and assembled policy database — is the intellectual property of the developer. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not redistribute, reverse-engineer, or resell the App or any part of it.
VII. Third-Party Services
The App uses Apple frameworks that you have already agreed to through iOS itself: CloudKit for optional iCloud sync, UserNotifications for reminders, Vision for scanning, MapKit for store locations. We don't embed any third-party SDKs — no analytics, no ad networks, no crash reporters.
VIII. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App and its developer are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost refunds, missed deadlines, data loss, or hardware issues — arising from your use of the App. The App is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.
IX. Changes to the Terms
These Terms may change with future updates to the App. Material changes will be surfaced in the App's Almanac and on this page. Continued use after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
