When SimplyWise makes sense
If you want fully-automatic background sync from Gmail and Outlook inboxes, SimplyWise still edges us there. Our email import works as a Mail share sheet: you pick the receipt, we parse it on-device. That's a deliberate trade — no inbox credentials leave your phone, nothing touches a server, and on iPhones running iOS 26 with Apple Intelligence, any retailer is supported (not just the ones we've hand-written parsers for), because the on-device language model handles the long tail.
When Shoeboxed makes sense
If you're running a small business with tax-deductible expenses that need human-assisted receipt verification (Shoeboxed offers mail-in receipt scanning by staff), it's built for that workflow. For personal returns and warranties, the $144/year price and cloud-first architecture are overkill.
When Warranty Wallet makes sense
If you only care about warranties and never about returns, Warranty Wallet is a tidy $1.99 alternative with a nice visual style. Our warranty tracking matches theirs feature-for-feature and is free, so the tradeoff is small.
